Civil Engineering Labs
Structural Testing Laboratories
Researchers and students working in the structural testing laboratories determine how well structures hold up to a variety of environmental conditions through simulating earthquakes; snow drifting; soil dynamics and more!

Infrastructure
A state-of-the-art infrastructure engineering research facility is housed in the Jonsson Engineering Center. It includes numerous networked PCs, workstations, and a Micro Vax 3100, as well as a color printer, scaner, and laser printers.
Geotechnical (The Class 1933 Cyclic Soils Laboratory)
The cyclic soils laboratory has conducted significant research for more than 15 years in the areas of earthquake engineering and soil dynamics. It is directed by Dr. Thomas F. Zimmie.
Computational Mechanics
The mechanics of composite materials and structures program at Rensselaer has the benefit of two dedicated composite materials laboratories.
